a monthly newsletter run by American photographer Austin Mann, lightstory is a simple idea: the amazing tales behind the planning, pursuits and capture of spectacular photographs from the most talented photographers in the world.

each lightstory includes:

• behind the scenes photographs, an audio or video interview about the image.
• Context: what was happening in the world when you created this photograph? why is it important?
• pre-production: how the image was planned, what was considered, traveling, etc
• production: what was it like to capture this shot? what was the adversity overcome?
• post-production: what was the editing like? how did this one get chosen compared to others in the series.
• learnings & insights from the artist gained through the experience of making this photograph
